✨IMPORTANT CHANGES TO TENAHA ISD STUDENT CELL PHONE POLICY FOR 2025-2026✨
Tenaha ISD Families,
In accordance with House Bill 1481 that was passed during the 89th Texas Legislative Session and signed into law by Governor Abbott, Tenaha ISD will not allow any cellular device usage during school hours, 7:30- 4:00. This will allow us to focus on learning and reduce distractions in the classroom, as well as cut down on cyberbullying and social media misuse.
The state law takes effect for the 2025-2026 school year and requires public school districts to prohibit students from using personal electronic communication devices that can send or receive data on school property during the school day, including passing periods and at lunch.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Cell Phones
Smart Watches
Bluetooth Earbuds or Headphones
Tablets and Personal Computers
Gaming Devices
Pagers
Two-Way Radios
And any other device capable of telecommunications or digital communication.
All students at Tenaha ISD will use district- issued devices for instructional purposes only. Additional details will be provided relating to the new policy as it develops. We encourage parents and guardians to begin discussing this upcoming change with their student(s) to be prepared for the school year to start in August.
Thank you for your support on this new law as it will be a big change for all Texas public schools.

We are down to our second to last Friday!! We love seeing our Tigers working hard all the way to the end.

Big thanks to Mrs. King, Ms. Lupita, and Mr. Alan for being a part of our k-2 Tiger Lanyard trip. We ate lunch at the park, and Mrs. Ward surprised them with an ice cream cone before we headed back to school.

Our K-2 students who earned three hole punches in a row this year earned a special trip to the inflatable park in Nacogdoches where they ran, jumped, climbed and played games for two hours straight.

Tiger Lanyards were awarded for the last time of the 24/25 school year yesterday. We had several students earn their first hole punch to end the year on a positive note! Thanks to our teachers for snapping photos of our different grade levels (any guesses which class had Ms. Katha?😅)
