Big thanks to Mrs. King, Ms. Lupita, and Mr. Alan for being a part of our k-2 Tiger Lanyard trip. We ate lunch at the park, and Mrs. Ward surprised them with an ice cream cone before we headed back to school.

Tiger Lanyards were awarded for the last time of the 24/25 school year yesterday. We had several students earn their first hole punch to end the year on a positive note! Thanks to our teachers for snapping photos of our different grade levels (any guesses which class had Ms. Katha?😅)

The month of April has been a whirlwind of activities at TES! Our third through sixth graders took the RLA STAAR test this week, the book fair wraps up today, and we have begun recognizing all of our students for their 5th Six Week's accomplishments. Today we announced the top 6 (we had a tie for 5th) IXL students! They will get McDonald's from Mrs. Ward next week. We also recognized our positive office referrals. We will have more to come next week as our 5th graders get ready to take the science STAAR test on Tuesday.

In Loving Memory of Coach Todd Bodden Our school district and community are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Coach Todd Bodden. A dedicated educator, mentor, and coach, Coach Bodden spent 17 impactful years with us, shaping the lives of countless students with his tough love, honesty, and unwavering commitment to their success. Coach Bodden never sugar coated the truth. He held his students and athletes to high standards, always pushing them to be their very best. Whether in the classroom or on the court, he expected hard work, integrity, and resilience. But beyond that, he made sure every student knew they were supported and cared for, long after graduation and even into his retirement. The outpouring of love from former students, athletes, and colleagues speaks volumes. Coach Bodden was more than just a teacher or a coach. He was family to many. He left his mark not only on this district, but on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Rest easy, Coach. Your legacy lives on in every student you inspired.

Did you know that 20 minutes of reading per day exposes readers to 1.8 million words per year? While reading improves vocabulary and writing skills, it also reduces stress and helps develop empathy. Next week we will celebrate Read Across America week at TISD. We invite all of our students and staff to join in the fun.
