Tiger Nation!! We have several reminders for you as Friday quickly approaches: 1) Don't forget about our Black Light Pep-Rally taking place Friday morning in the SEC at 8:45! Our Mini Cheer Camp participants will be performing at the beginning of the pep-rally in the event of rain at the game Friday evening. 2) Friday is "Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet, A Drug Free Life is Super Sweet!! Costume Day!!" Remember, No SCARY or Inappropriate Costumes will be allowed!! Dress Code will still be enforced! 3) If we do not experience inclement weather during the game Friday evening, mini cheer camp participants will use the schedule below for their performances: PK4-2nd Grade: Will Cheer Between 1st and 2nd Quarter (Meet at the bottom of the stairs with 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter) 3rd-5th Grade: Will Cheer Between 3rd and 4th Quarter (Meet at the bottom of the stairs with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter) **Parents please meet your child at the gate IMMEDIATELY following their performance!!** 4) Senior Night Recognition - All Senior Night Participants and Families: You will meet at 6:15 pm inside the entrance. In the event it is raining, meet just to the left inside the entrance under the covered area; if it isn't raining, meet at the visitor's concession area. Senior Night will begin at 6:30 with the recognition of the Football players first followed by band, cheer, cross country and tiger media. Contingency plans are in place in the event of inclement weather, however, that decision will not be made until 6pm. Thank you for your patience. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!! As we bring October to a close, we would like to wrap up National Principals Month by recognizing the final piece to our leadership puzzle at TISD with our High School Principal, Mr. John Thompson. Mr. Thompson is in his second year at TISD serving as our High School administrator. He is always a friendly smile for our students and staff, and makes an effort daily to create positive relationships with our students. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and works hard to show our students you never stop learning. Thank you, Mr. Thompson, for all that you do to make TISD a better place. Once again, if you see any of our administrators out and about, or get an opportunity to send them a quick message of thanks from time to time, please do so. These individuals work very long, sometimes thankless hours...and a thank you or note of appreciation goes a very long way!!

This Friday night, we will recognize those Seniors who have participated in Fall activities in our Senior Night Recognition ceremony during the pre-game festivities of the Tenaha vs Mt. Enterprise varsity football game. Those seniors participating have been notified and will need to be lined up with their families who will be joining them on the field at 6:15 by the visitor's concession area. In the event of rain, please gather to the left just inside the stadium entrance at 6:15. Plans are in place in the event of inclement weather; however, this will be a game time decision. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to celebrating this occasion with you all!!

Our Elementary Students have done such an AWESOME JOB rocking the WORLDS FINEST CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER the past couple of weeks, that they have extended the deadline for orders just a bit longer through November 4th!! The PRIZES for the top sellers are pretty GREAT TOO!! Make sure to keep selling and contact the TES Office for more cases or to purchase!!

This Friday, the BETA Club will be hosting a Bake Sale raising funds for the SAKS of Love project HEAT (Heating Elderly Addresses Together). The bake sale will be located near the SEC throughout both middle school and high school lunches and during elementary scheduled lunches as well. All items will be $1; so please send dollar bills; they will not supply change. Thank you so much for supporting this wonderful cause!!!

It's OFFICIALLY MEET DAY for our XC Tigers!! Our XC Teams are headed to Huntsville for the Regional Meet as we speak!! Tiger Nation...pray for safe travels, and fast times today for these athletes!! Tenaha Independent School District is honored to announce the 13th Annual Holiday Hoops Classic Hall of Fame Class of 2022 Inductees: Ms. Patricia Nelson and Mr. Jay Buckley. Ms. Nelson and Mr. Buckley will join an elite group of individuals as they are formally inducted this December during the championship evening of the 13th Annual Tournament, December 29th. To continue celebrating National Principals Month and recognizing our outstanding leadership team at Tenaha ISD, we'd like to honor our Tenaha Middle School Principal, Mr./Coach Marlin Cloudy. Coach Cloudy is a new face in Tenaha, but it hasn't take him long to win the hearts of our community!! He is always a smiling face, and a helping hand no matter what the need. He has a natural ability of creating meaningful relationships with our students and staff and we LOVE having him around!! Thank you, Mr. Cloudy for all that you do; we could not do it without you!! You are GREATLY appreciated!!

We are just a few "sleeps" away from a VERY BIG day for our XC Teams!! Our Varsity Boys and two of our Varsity Girls will travel to the Regional XC Meet in Huntsville Monday morning. For those that would like to support them and are able to travel, the physical address for the meet is: Kate Barr-Ross Park 486 State Highway 75 North Huntsville, TX 77320 The 2A Girls Race will begin at 12:00 pm and the 2A Boys Race will begin at 12:30 PM. The Girls Awards ceremony will begin at 1:20pm and the Boys ceremony will follow. We are so proud of these athletes and the season they have put together thus far. We wish them and their coaches, Coach Sisk and Coach Rocha the very best Monday. Please make sure to keep this team and our coaches in your prayers this weekend and Monday as they travel!!

TIGERNATION!! October is Principal's Appreciation Month and we are truly BLESSED WITH THE BEST!! We would like to recognize our outstanding leadership team beginning with the prettiest of the three:-), Mrs. Elizabeth Ward!! Mrs. Ward is definitely no stranger to Tenaha, and although this is her first official year as school "principal", you would never know it!! This job truly "fits her like a glove" and it shows with everything she does. She loves her students and staff, and the work isn't done at the end of the day just because the bell rings...she pours her heart and soul into this district, and we are LUCKY to have her in Tenaha!! We love you Mrs. Ward, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!

A Note From TES Principal, Mrs. Ward: “It is hard to believe we are over half way through the 2nd Six Weeks! Thanks in BIG part to our super-talented TES staff, the “There’s No Place Like Homecoming “ parade was one for the books. Parents, you did an amazing job with costumes, hair, and makeup, and thank you to all of you who volunteered your trucks and trailers. We also appreciated how quickly students were picked up, so the staff could take apart floats. Mini cheer camp kicked off their first practice Tuesday after school. Ms. T and Ms. Ashley were impressed with how respectful and excited the girls were to learn some cheers. All of our beginning-of-year testing has been completed, so our students and teachers know what skills need to be worked on to show growth. Please remember, the goal is to master the TEKS in each grade level. That will look different for each student as some pick up skills more quickly than others. I encourage you to work with your teacher and child to see where you can help at home. Our World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser is going strong! Our kiddos and families are amazing salespeople. Keep up the excellent work. All money and boxes will be due October 28th. With the changing seasons, comes some illnesses. We appreciate you keeping us informed when your child is out sick. Hopefully, we are on the mend and the three day weekend helped everyone recover. Red Ribbon Week is next week. The dress up days have been posted on our website along with a note that was sent home this week. Leo the Lion will visit TES next Wednesday! I cannot wait to see the pumpkins for the Tiger Media Pumpkin Contest. All decorated pumpkins can be turned in the elementary office on Monday for judging. Instructions went home last week. As you can tell, your kiddos and our staff are BUSY learning and having fun. Thanks for all you do to help us make Tenaha great. “

Gulf Coast Blood Center is on campus today in the parking lot of the High School with their mobile Blood Donation Center for our Blood Drive. Please take part in giving the "Gift of Life" by donating blood! Our blood drive will take place all day until 1:45 pm. Adults 17 years of age and older may donate blood, or 16 years of age with parent consent. You may also donate in a students name if the student is under the age of 16 or unable to donate due to health reasons. Please stop by the donation center to sign up!

Tomorrow night our Junior High Football team will play host to Cushing here in The Pit for their PINK OUT game. We encourage all fans, cheerleaders and players to PINK OUT in support of breast cancer awareness!! B Team Scrimmage will begin at 4:30 followed by the A Team game.

Don't FORGET!! Tonight is FAFSA NIGHT here at Tenaha ISD. This is a graduation requirement. Representatives from Panola College will be on hand this evening, as well as a translator to assist with the process. Please bring both the student and parent social security numbers and last year's tax information if filed. FAFSA Night will be held in the TISD Cafetorium from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
