It's a busy day for our Tigers as they hit the road again this evening; soccer will be headed to Tatum to take on the Eagles with the ladies taking the field at 5pm followed by the boys at 6:45. Remember fans, as the Tigers and Lady Tigers are making history this year entering district play, all district rules apply to our athletes and fans as well. We are so excited for these students and their new endeavor. We will be sharing more information with you as they begin to play district games at home regarding admission pricing and more. Best of Luck today to those soccer athletes and their coaches.
Our varsity basketball teams will head south to Shelbyville and Dragon Country where the Lady Tigers will play at 6pm and the Tigers will take the court at 7:30.
Then tomorrow morning, remember to bring your kiddos out for the Cheer Mini camp that our cheerleaders will be hosting from 9am until noon. This camp will be for students PK4-5th Grade. The registration fee is $30 and will include a camp tee shirt that the participants will wear with black shorts for their show off performance next Friday night during half-time of the Garrison game here at home. On February 1st, Tenaha ISD will host a FASFA Night for current Seniors and their families.
All seniors and parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.
Completing the FAFSA is a graduation requirement. Below are some helpful tips for you to prepare for this informational night:
1. Parents and students each need to create an FSA ID. Doing so before FAFSA Night will help in the process.
2. You will need your tax information from 2022.
3. For students/parents that do not have a social security number (SSN) follow the directions in the attached document.

Our Varsity Cheerleaders will host a Mini Cheer Camp for PK4-5th grade students this Saturday, January 27th from 9am until noon for $30. All participants will enjoy breakfast with the cheerleaders and will receive a tee-shirt to be worn with black shorts at the last home Lady Tigers Basketball/Lady Tiger Senior Night game on February 2 vs Garrison. The RAIN has finally moved out enough for our TIGERS and LADY TIGERS to hit the road and courts today to do what they do best...COMPETE!! Our soccer teams will be headed to Carthage in a rain check of their match that was originally planned for earlier this week. The girls will play at 5pm and the boys will start at 6:45. Best of luck to both teams this evening!
Indoors, our Junior High basketball teams will be at home where they will host the Beckville Bearcats. The A teams will be playing in the SEC beginning with the Girls followed by the boys; and in the Tiger Gym, the B Team Boys will kick things off first followed by the girls to finish the evening at 6:30.
Whatever sport you prefer, our Tigers will not be far either way, make sure you support them either at home or in Carthage!

Next Friday evening, our Lady Tigers will host their final home game of the regular season. We will recognize our Class of 2024 Lady Tigers at 5:45 and the game will begin at 6pm. Following the girls game that evening, we will officially retire the #14 jersey worn by Shanna McCollister Dagley in a special presentation with family, friends and Tenaha ISD officials present. We invite all who knew and loved Shanna to join us for this special occasion. Following this dedication and jersey retirement, the Tenaha Tigers will play the Garrison Bulldogs at 7:30pm.
The Tenaha High School Senior Class will also be hosting a Bake Sale all evening benefiting Project Graduation 2024. They will be set up as you enter the SEC. If you would like to donate something for the Bake Sale, please contact Laura Cox at the TISD Administration Office, or please be sure to patronize the Senior Class for this wonderful cause that evening so that our seniors can have a fun and safe place to spend the evening following Graduation 2024!



All Tenaha ISD Stakeholders (parents or guardians of students, community members, etc. ) are cordially invited to attend a question and answer session being hosted by District and Campus Administrators on Monday evening, January 29th at 6pm in the TISD Cafetorium. The topics of discussion at this session will be student safety and building security measures, along with the most recent Federal School Report Card that was just released and posted online. We hope you will make plans to attend.

Don't forget tonight is Teacher Appreciation night at the SEC as the Tigers and Lady Tigers take on the Gary Bobcats! The Tiger Cafe will be in full swing; doors open at 5:30! We will have fried fish, chicken strips or boiled shrimp with either fries or baked potato, cole slaw and tea....all for just $10! Lady Tigers will tip off at 6pm and the Tigers will play at 7:30. We will recognize our outstanding staff and teachers between games. Come on out and show your support and get out of the rain!! All soccer games in Carthage have been cancelled for this evening!

Tomorrow evening, join the Lady Tiger and Tiger Varsity Basketball teams for Teacher Appreciation night at the SEC!! The Tiger Cafe will be open from 5:30 -8 serving fish, chicken strips, or boiled shrimp with fries or baked potato and cole slaw and tea for just $10 as the Tigers take on the Gary Bobcats at 6 and 7:30.


It's GAMEDAY! The Varsity Girls & Boys basketball teams will travel to Joaquin tonight to play the Rams at 6pm and 7:30pm. Best of Luck TIGERS!!!


TIGERNATION! It's GAMEDAY! Come on out to the SEC and warm up watching our Varsity Girls and Boys basketball teams as they play the Beckville Bearcats this afternoon! Our Lady Tigers will play at 4pm and the Varsity Boys will play following that game at approximately 5:30pm. Doors will open at 3:45.


Tenaha ISD will observe a delayed start tomorrow, Wednesday January 17, 2024. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. Students will not be dropped off before 9:45am. Teachers should report at 9:30.
The VG/VB basketball games vs Beckville will begin at 4pm in the SEC. Doors will open at 3:45.


Tenaha ISD has cancelled school and all activities including sporting events due to winter weather conditions Tuesday, January 16th. We will evaluate conditions tomorrow and make a decision regarding school Wednesday at that time. Everyone stay warm and enjoy your day!


LADY TIGERS WIN!! The Lady Tigers take the W over Marshall in Day 2 of the Marshall Tournament leaving them currently tied with New Summerfield for the Championship. The winner of tomorrow's game with New Summerfield and the Lady Tigers will determine the tournament CHAMPION!!
Today's BIG SCORER was Dalia Romero, responsible for scoring all THREE of the Lady Tiger's goals! Also, shoutout to goal keeper, Rosario Noriega, for her perfect shutout in today's match!! A happy team with a treat at Wing Stop afterwards, and they are ready for tomorrow!! Bring home the CHAMPIONSHIP LADY TIGERS!!


Just a reminder that Tenaha ISD will observe Monday, January 15th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a School Holiday. There will be no school for staff or students.
We are also closely monitoring the possibility of winter weather conditions/hazards spanning into Tuesday of next week. Please make sure you have the Tenaha ISD app downloaded to your cell phone (can be downloaded free of charge from both the App Store or Google Play Store) with push notifications enabled. If changes need to be made regarding the school day or transportation arrangements, the district will communicate these changes via the Tenaha ISD Facebook page, Tenaha ISD app/push notifications, and Tenaha ISD website. Please take precautions now in the event our area is faced with the weather being forecasted for next week.



It's also GAMEDAY for our Varsity Basketball teams vs the Timpson Bears! Our Lady Tigers will kick things off this evening at 6pm, followed by the Varsity Boys at 7:30. The Tiger Café will be open tonight as well...so bundle up and come on out, let us do the cookin' and watch some great local basketball!!


It's MATCH DAY!! Our Boys and Girls Soccer teams will both be playing today despite the wind and the very cold temps that are moving in!
At 1:30, the Lady Tigers will begin Day 2 of the Marshall Tournament where they will face the Yellowjackets of Kemp. They will play again tomorrow in the final day of the tournament at 1:30 as well against New Summerfield to round out the weekend.
Our boys will travel this afternoon to Waskom where they will play the Wildcats at 5:30pm.
