Hall of Honor 2025

The Hall of Honor Committee for this year is proud to announce that the newest inductee will be Mrs. Josephine Hairgrove Vickery.

Josephine Vickery, fondly known as Josie, was a beloved member of the Tenaha community and a cherished figure at Tenaha ISD, where she worked in the cafeteria for over 20 years. Starting in 1957, she dedicated herself to managing and preparing delicious meals for students and staff, becoming a cornerstone of the school’s daily life.

A loyal supporter of all Tiger activities, Josephine took great pride in seeing her community thrive, always eager to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. She was married to Lawrence Vickery, and together they raised their son, David, who graduated from Tenaha High School in 1964. Josephine’s legacy lives on through her family, with both of her grandchildren, Brad and Mandy, proud to be Tenaha alumni.

Her dedication, warmth, and love for Tenaha ISD and its students will never be forgotten.
