Area ATSSB OPS results are in and after just missing it last year, the middle school band rebounded and had TWO pieces advance to STATE in the concert category! “Zig Zag” came in first and and “Fortis” came in third! The top 3 concert pieces advance.
Huge achievement for our little 2A/ 1C middle school band that also has to compete against other fantastic 2A & 3A middle school bands. The future continues to be very bright! Congrats middle school band!
After having a piece advance to state last year, the high school did not have a piece advance to state in OPS this year. Our march came in 3rd place in the march category against some of the best high school bands in the state. Top 2 march recordings advance to state. The high school band’s recordings will however compete in the separate TMEA State Honor Band competition in late July!
