Most well known as "Coach" Terry Ward, this upcoming school year, he transitions into a new role as the 7-12 Principal for Tenaha Middle School & High School. Mr. Ward is no stranger to Tenaha, as he just completed his second stint at Tenaha in the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach role in 23-24. In his first stint from 2009-2015, Coach Ward led the Tigers to two state championship games and won it all in 2011. Along with the state appearances, Coach Ward also led two other teams to the state semi-finals.
Coach Ward has coached for 28 years , with 13 of those as the head football coach. In his career as a head football coach, he has won 9 district championships as well as qualifying for the playoffs 11 times. Coach Ward has an overall coaching record of 108-54 as a head coach.
Coach Ward has been married to Elizabeth for the past 25 years, and she is currently serving as the Elementary Principal at Tenaha. Coach Ward and Elizabeth have three sons, Andy (25) and wife Emily, currently living in Ft. Worth, Cooper (22) current coach at Liberty Eylau, and Luke (19) current junior at Louisiana Tech University.
