Campbell named Lone Finalist for Tenaha ISD Superintendent

Tenaha ISD is ecstatic to announce that Mr. Jerrod Campbell has been board approved and named the Lone Finalist in the search for the next district Superintendent. Mr. Campbell joins Tiger Nation with nearly 25 years of educational experience, not to mention his experience growing up as the son of an educator as well. He has worked as a coach, classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, bus driver and so much more. He feels experience in each facet of the school system ensures he never forgets what it feels like to be in those positions and the sacrifice those vital employees make to keep each district running at a high level.

Mr. Campbell started out at ETBU playing basketball, then finished both his M.Ed and Superintendent certification at Stephen F. Austin. He has spent the last 4 years serving as the High School Principal at Timpson High School.

He attributes his success to his loving family: wife, Linsey; and 4 children: daughters Jaycee & Alleigh and his sons, Jackson and Terry Bussey.

Mr. Campbell is a “people” person. He loves having the opportunity to “love on” people. He is excited to meet Tiger Nation; creating relationships and connecting with staff, students and the community on both a professional and personal level. He feels listening is very important, and looks forward to listening to the people and families that make up this great community and school district. Mr. Campbell said, “It’s hard sometimes to look forward to a “job”, no one really loves a job all the time. However, it’s the “people” who make you look forward to each day and what you do.”

Congratulations Mr. Campbell and we are so excited to welcome you to Tigerland!! Mr. Campbell will undergo a 30 day waiting period, as is customary for all new superintendent hires, and then begin work on June 3, 2024.
