On behalf of our board, staff, and community I would like to extend an invitation to join us at Tenaha Independent School District. We are proud to be home to one of the best athletic, fine arts, and academic traditions in East Texas.
As the new school year begins, we are looking forward to setting the standard in academics as well as athletics. Coach Terry Ward and Texas Football Magazine’s Pre-season #1 ranked Tenaha Tigers are gearing up for the new season. The Tigers have begun pre-season practices at the famed “40-Acres” Practice Facility. Expectations for a great season are at a high as the Tigers return 6 offensive and 7 defensive starters from a 12-1 season in 2009. Overall the Tiger Football program is seeking its 5th straight playoff appearance and 2nd straight District Title.
We are committed to the success of our students at Tenaha Independent School District. Proudly, our Elementary, Middle School and High Schools have reached academic recognition from TEA in 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2009-2010. Our Band, at 100 plus members strong, continues to earn awards nation wide. The athletic programs boast of district, area, regionals, and state titles. Tenaha also provides a host of district programs such as Gifted and Talented, Beta Club, Robotics, Gear Up program, Imagination Fair, Model UN, Child Development Center, and many more. A new era of education in Tenaha Schools is continuing. We are looking forward to many years of accomplishments and success. We want you to be a part.
